About Us

Toubl Game Bird Farms was “hatched” in 1966 when Jan Toubl purchased 3 pheasants to train his Irish Setter. To become well-versed in pheasant production, Jan attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Poultry Science in 1970. Since 1969, the Toubl family has produced thousands of pheasants, wild turkeys, and partridges for hunting, gourmet meats, dog trainers, wildlife restorationists, and taxidermists.

In fact, we were one of the largest Wild Turkey producers in the Midwest for more than 30 years and the largest Afghan Whitewing Pheasant producer in the US for more than 20 years. We are proud of our track record in producing top quality premium healthy game birds for all of these demanding markets.

In 1983, we dove into our own specialty foods to provide a large array of quality food products for those who love game birds. We purchased a smokehouse oven and rented processing space to commence the food segment of the business. In 1987, to bring things closer to home, a further processing building was erected on the farm according to USDA standards. Over the years, an automated form-fill-seal packaging machine, a state of the art sausage stuffer, a second smokehouse along with microprocessor controls to both “houses”, and other equipment was added to keep pace with the needs of our growing business.

TGBF incorporated in 2003 as Toubl Enterprises Incorporated and is a Wisconsin Licensed Game Farm. The business is family-owned and operated, and employs 5-7 full time and part time employees.

Toubl Enterprises Inc. produces a full assortment of game bird specialty gourmet food products. We own and operate our own Wisconsin State Inspected further processing plant #430. A variety of products are available from oven ready or smoked pheasant to pheasant egg rolls or snack sticks. Our products are truly one-of-a-kind because they contain 100% Pheasant meat, no fillers or fats added. We only sell product similar in status to USDA Grade A. Currently, even though “game birds” are exempt from the Poultry Products Inspection Act, all of our game birds are processed under voluntary State of Wisconsin Meat & Poultry Inspection. Our Wisconsin Plant #430 operates under USDA HACCP certification. Our products are shipped nationwide and we welcome all distributor inquiries.

Birdman’s® became our registered trademark because it has been Jan’s nickname since he started the business. With his vast knowledge and education, folks (even competitors) thought that nickname is extremely appropriate. The Toubl family took pride in our business achievements with our live flight birds, and we are continuing our achievements with game birds today with our excellent line of Birdman’s® branded gourmet food products. Our website bears our family name and so do our Birdman’s® branded products. We take pride in what we have to offer and look forward to expanding our line of safe and wholesome gourmet food products in the near future.
